Job summary

Ace Hardware of Newport is seeking a STIHL Service Technician to maintain and repair STIHL units sold in store, with emphasis on customer satisfaction and safety.

You will diagnose problems, order parts, file warranty claims, and complete Bronze/Silver/Gold STIHL certifications to provide expert on-site service. Requires strong communication and computer skills.

On-site work during regular hours with potential extra time, and you will train peers as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bronze/Silver/Gold STIHL technician status achievable via STIHL training.
• Exceptional customer service and a customer-centric work approach.
• Retail experience helpful; computer proficiency for parts lookup and warranty claims.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment to identify problems and determine solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on STIHL units and related equipment.
• Inspect and repair ignition, fuel, cooling, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies for repairs.
• Install new equipment and repair existing units to ensure safe operation.
• Repair small engines including chainsaws, trimmers, and blowers.
• Explain repair procedures to customers and document work performed.
• Stock and maintain the STIHL retail section and assist with store operations.
