Job summary

Ace Hardware of Newport is seeking a STIHL Service Technician who upholds our core values and aims to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. You will maintain and repair STIHL units sold by the store, and work toward Bronze, Silver, and Gold STIHL technician certifications to ensure proper service.

You will diagnose problems quickly, explain findings to customers, and use computer tools to look up parts, file warranty claims, and manage repairs while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Gold Technician status with STIHL through STIHL training and testing is required.
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to support a customer-focused culture.
• Previous retail experience is preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and MS Office applications (Word/Excel).
• Team-oriented with the ability to interact with customers from diverse backgrounds.
• Regular and prompt attendance is required.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment to identify problems and determine solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and check fluid levels.
• Inspect equipment for defects to ensure safety and quality.
• Repair components such as ignition, fuel, cooling, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and tools for repairs.
• Install new equipment and repair existing units to keep them operating safely.
• Explain repair procedures to customers and document work performed.
