Job summary

Loews New Orleans Hotel in the Warehouse District seeks a hands-on Stewarding Supervisor to lead the stewarding team, oversee dishwashing operations, and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety across back-of-house areas.

You will coordinate with banquet, culinary, and outlet teams for events, manage inventories and equipment, train staff, and enforce sanitation and health regulations to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in a mid-volume stewarding operation within an upscale hotel or restaurant preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.
• Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting heavy items, standing for long periods, and operating cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the stewarding team, assigning tasks and ensuring all responsibilities are covered throughout each shift.
• Monitor team performance, providing hands-on training, coaching, and feedback to maintain consistent service excellence.
• Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and kitchen equipment, ensuring everything meets Loews' high standards.
• Ensure dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment operate efficiently, reporting malfunctions promptly for repair.
• Coordinate the cleaning of kitchen areas, storage spaces, and back-of-house areas to maintain a spotless and organized environment.
• Enforce proper safety procedures and hygiene protocols to prevent accidents and contamination.
• Monitor compliance with health department regulations, including food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with inventory management for cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring the department is well-stocked and organized.
