Job Description
Supervise, train, and inspect the performance of assigned Stewarding staff, ensuring all procedures meet hotel standards. Assist where necessary to ensure excellent guest service.

1. Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
2. Ensure proper maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
3. Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests regardless of busyness or time of day.
4. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
5. Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
6. Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.
7. Ensure staff reports to work; document lateness or absences.
8. Coordinate staff breaks.
9. Monitor staff performance and address deficiencies.
10. Prepare and review staff assignments and priorities.
11. Communicate changes to shift assignments as needed.
12. Identify and delegate resolution of issues compromising standards.
13. Check supply levels, complete requisitions, and submit to management.
14. Inspect storage areas for cleanliness and organization.
15. Check workstations for supplies, cleanliness, and mechanical issues; instruct staff to correct deficiencies.
16. Review service needs with Stewarding and ensure requirements are met.
17. Maintain equipment par levels.
18. Ensure compliance with health regulations and hotel standards.
19. Monitor temperature and chemical solution requirements for dishwashing and storage.
20. Maintain pest control standards.
21. Assist with banquet functions as assigned.
22. Support Stewarding staff to maintain standards.
23. Provide performance feedback to the Executive Steward.
24. Maintain records of attendance and disciplinary actions.
25. Complete maintenance work orders and coordinate repairs.
26. Handle requests for additional wares courteously and follow up.
27. Report disciplinary issues and participate in employee counseling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in food service or janitorial roles.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical handling.
• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and non-verbally.
• Legible communication and direction skills.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
