Job summary

Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah, operated by LEFT LANE Hospitality Group, is hiring a Steward to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass, and silver, while assisting kitchen staff with sanitation and storage. This role supports food and beverage areas during launch and ongoing operations.

The Steward will follow safety procedures, handle chemicals safely, and help with setup and breakdown of buffet and events as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Flexible and long hours are sometimes required.
• Heavy lifting and standing for long shifts.
• Ability to stand during the entire shift.
• Friendly, attentive and service-oriented demeanor.
• Follow safety procedures and use chemicals properly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in kitchens, back dock, dumpster and utility areas.
• Heavy cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, walls, floors, walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
• Wash pots, pans, and utensils following proper sanitation procedures.
• Sweep, mop, and wash floors in food and beverage areas, kitchen and dock areas.
• Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Return clean items to proper storage locations with care to minimize breakage.
• Follow sanitation standards and proper handling of chemicals.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of restaurant buffet as required.
• Assist Banquets by supplying china, glass, and silver as required by business demand.
