Job summary

Magnolia Houston is seeking a diligent Steward to support all food and beverage outlets through cleanliness, organization, and pace in the stewarding department. You will follow proper cleaning techniques and operate designated equipment to meet property needs.

Responsibilities include operating the dish machine, maintaining chemical safety, sanitizing utensils and surfaces, sweeping and mopping, restocking items, and adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to physically stand for long periods.
• Detail-oriented and capable of fast-paced work.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment use.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and safety.
• Ability to work around high temperatures and cleaners.

Responsibilities

• Operate dish machine correctly including loading, cycles and chemical use.
• Check chemical amounts with test strips during shift.
• Clean and sanitize utensils, dishware, pots/pans and work areas.
• Clean and organize back dock and surrounding areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors and walk-ins; sanitize shelves.
• Take out trash and clean trash cans.
• Restock china, glass and silver as directed.
• Complete opening/closing duties and scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Wear required PPE; follow safety and environmental policies.
• Report injuries to Chef or F&B Management and follow procedures.
• Perform other duties in Food & Beverage or related departments as needed.

Overview

This position provides support to all food and beverage outlets through cleanliness, organization, and pace in the stewarding department. These responsibilities include using proper cleaning techniques and designated equipment to meet property needs.

Responsibilities

• Correct use of the dish machine including loading, unloading, wash/rinse cycles chemical use, and cleaning the machine.
• Check correct chemical amount using test strips during your shift.
• Clean and sanitize all cooking utensils, dishware, china, glass and silver, pots/pans, and work areas.
• Clean and organize back dock including surrounding areas.
• Clean and sanitize work areas including the pot/pan sink.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, walls and shelves of the kitchen including walk-ins.
• Take out trash and clean trash cans.
• Put away cleaned/sanitized items and restock china, glass and silver where directed.
• Complete opening and closing shift side duties, and complete scheduled and assigned kitchen cleaning tasks.
• Wear required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
• Adhere to all safety, risk management and environmental policies.
• Report any injury no matter how minor to the Chef or F&B Management.
• Other duties as assigned which may include performing duties other than those listed in this position description in the Food & Beverage department or other department in the Hotel.
