Job summary

Cooper Consolidated, LLC, based along the lower Mississippi River, seeks a stevedore supervisor with 3–5 years of leadership in the marine industry. This role oversees unloading/loading operations of barges and vessels, directing staff, and ensuring safe, efficient performance.

You’ll participate in the Safety Program, manage staffing and costs, coordinate with vessel officers, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in stevedoring/marine industry; experience with management and customer relations.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, EPA) and environmental compliance.
• Ability to lead and coach staff, manage workloads and costs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct staff in all barge and vessel processes to ensure efficient operations and safety.
• Lead, coach, and guide staff on customer service and operating costs.
• Communicate with vessel officers and marine fleets to optimize loading/unloading performance.
• Regularly update Terminal Manager on operations status, delays, safety issues or hazards.
• Manage equipment and labor expenses and assist in staffing decisions and performance reviews.
• Ensure documentation and reports are completed accurately and on time, including safety correspondence.
