Job summary

Cooper Consolidated, LLC is seeking a deckhand to support barge operations along the lower Mississippi River. You will participate in safety programs, perform inspections, document activities, and assist in delivering supplies to fleet boats. Occasional travel to multiple parishes may be required.

Strong communication, basic math, and teamwork are essential. A high school diploma and reliable transportation are required; 401(k) and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; able to read and follow procedures.
• Able to perform basic math and complete required paperwork accurately.
• Able to communicate effectively and work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Safety Program and attend daily pre-shift meetings.
• Follow OSHA and company safety rules; wear appropriate PPE.
• Complete logs and submit to dispatch; deliver supplies to fleet boats/docs.
• Inspect and maintain barge fleet; perform weekly checks on equipment.
• Assist with securing, rigging inventory, and housekeeping as needed.
