Job summary

Cooper Consolidated is seeking a results-driven supervisor to lead barge and vessel operations along the lower Mississippi River. You will participate in safety programs, coach staff on safety practices, and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.

You will oversee loading/unloading activities, coordinate with vessel officers, and monitor workloads and costs. Strong leadership, communication skills, and 5 years in stevedoring/marine are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years' experience in stevedoring/marine industry and management experience.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Safety Program; lead pre-shift meetings and coach staff on safety.
• Oversee barge and vessel processes, ensure compliance with safety and regulations.
• Lead customer service efforts and manage staffing and workload assignments.
• Communicate with vessel officers and manage operations status with the Terminal Manager.
• Assist with inventory, housekeeping, documentation, and payroll reporting.
