Job summary

ADM in Destrehan, LA is seeking a Stevedore Trainee to introduce candidates to stevedoring operations, vessel loading, and heavy equipment tasks. This is a full-time, hourly trainee position with on-the-job training and a clear path to development within ADM's maritime operations.

You will participate in safety, ethics, and environmental commitments, learn to complete time logs and vessel reports, and perform maintenance on equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have a safe work record and be 100% safety minded.
• Must have good written and oral skills.
• Must have basic mathematic skills.
• Must be able to perform basic preventive maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Must be able to work in barges.
• Must be able to work shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to work in small groups.
• Must be flexible in hours and available on short notice.
• TWIC Card ability or possession.
• Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and load ocean-going vessels and river barges.
• Maintain time logs and complete end of vessel reports and safety & production reports.
• Participate in ADM safety, ethics, and environmental commitments.
• Follow ADM policies and maintain daily operational duties.
