Job summary

Logistec is seeking a Stevedoring Supervisor to lead vessel load/unload activities, oversee terminal operations, and drive safety and efficiency. You will mentor frontline teams and collaborate with vessel agents, customers, and operations colleagues to ensure smooth cargo movement.

The ideal candidate has stevedoring or terminal operations experience, strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with varying shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or technical training preferred.
• Minimum of two years in cargo handling, stevedoring, terminal or maritime operations.
• TWIC eligibility required.
• Demonstrated leadership with a commitment to safety and accountability.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Knowledge of stevedoring operations, cargo handling procedures, and related equipment; supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience supporting health and safety initiatives; OSHA knowledge and compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for teamwork.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to complete operational reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; adaptable to varying schedules including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate stevedoring teams during vessel loading/unloading to ensure safety and productivity.
• Oversee daily terminal activities, ensuring compliance with policies, port rules, and safety regulations.
• Develop and execute plans to optimize workflow and support timely vessel turnaround.
• Coordinate with vessel agents, terminal ops, customers, and stakeholders to maintain smooth operations.
• Conduct pre-operation and pre-shift briefings on assignments, safety expectations, priorities, and goals.
• Monitor equipment and report maintenance needs; ensure safe use of tools and machinery.
• Train and mentor stevedoring staff to promote excellence, teamwork, and safety.
• Uphold safety culture aligning with OSHA rules and company procedures.
• Identify process improvements and implement solutions to boost efficiency and customer service.
