Job summary

AmerisourceBergen seeks a PRN Pharmacy Technician for a new onsite Sterling, IL location. You will create patient profiles, enter prescription plan details, verify information, and assist with adjudication, inventory, and insurer communications.

Minimum two years of ambulatory pharmacy experience is normally required; PTCB or national certification is required, with state certification acceptable if equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years ambulatory pharmacy experience
• Pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or national cert) required
• State pharmacy certification acceptable if core competencies meet national requirements
• Strong communication and accuracy under time/volume constraints
• Familiarity with prescription processing, insurance adjudication, and pharmacy operations

Responsibilities

• Create patient profiles in the pharmacy system
• Enter prescription plan information for processing and adjudication
• Enter new patient prescription details into the system
• Communicate with insurers, patients, and pharmacists about issues
• Assist with inventory management and reports for pharmacist review
• Handle inbound calls and triage to appropriate staff
• Support adjudicated claims review for reimbursement accuracy
• Assist pharmacists with information for therapeutic consults
