Job summary

Cencora is launching a new pharmacy location in Sterling, IL and seeks PRN Pharmacy Technicians to support the onsite operations. The role emphasizes patient profiling, insurance adjudication, and collaboration with pharmacists to ensure accurate dispensing.

Candidates should have two years of ambulatory pharmacy experience and hold a national certification (PTCB). State certification is acceptable if competencies meet the standard.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years directly related ambulatory pharmacy experience.
• Bachelor’s degree program preferred.
• Pharmacy technician certification with a national certifying body (PTCB) required.
• State pharmacy certification acceptable if core competencies equal to national requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create a patient profile in the pharmacy information system.
• Enter prescription plan information for processing and adjudicating prescriptions.
• Enter all new patient prescription information into the system.
• Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues with insurers, patients, and pharmacists.
• Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for ambulatory pharmacy.
• Retrieve and prepare medication for pharmacist review and verification.
• Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review and purchase.
• Submit and place inventory in stock.
• Answer inbound calls and triage to appropriate staff.
• Assist with adjudicated prescription claims and reimbursement issues as needed.
• Assist pharmacist with information for therapeutic consults with patients.
• Intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager to resolve plan/patient adjudication issues.
