Education

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum High School graduate or equivalent
• Experience in a healthcare setting required
• Dental Assistant preferred

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills with the ability to communicate clearly and project a pleasant and professional demeanor.
• Proficient computer skills including the use of word processing, e-mail and electronic medical/dental records software.
• Knowledge of the health care field and dental processes and procedures.
• Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
• Ability to set priorities, recognize problems, inform appropriate person of problem and assist in problem resolution.

Essential Functions

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Maintains familiarity with and follows OSHA standards.
• Ensures instruments are sterilized as soon as feasible when received into central sterilization.
• Maintains cleanliness and order of all areas of sterilization.
• Keeps accurate logs of spore testing.
• Uses the system to monitor and track instruments through sterilization.
• Keeps the Lead Sterilization Tech apprised of any issues or concerns with equipment, supplies or procedures related to sterilization.
• Meets the needs and special requests of the providers with regard to instruments and hand pieces.
• Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team to facilitate the Dental Center's ability to meet goals and objectives.
• Attains goals and objectives within specified time frames.
• Follows the Exposure Control Plans/Blood borne and Airborne Pathogens.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional responsible and courteous environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
