Job summary

Interim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Sterilization Tech for a full-time, M-F schedule (8:00 am–4:30 pm) in a clinical setting in Minneapolis, MN (East Bank). The role involves decontamination, sterilization, and equipment preparation for procedures.

Compensation is up to $33 per hour, depending on experience, with benefits including PTO accrual and medical/dental coverage. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of sterilization experience and may hold an HSPA CSCRT certification.

Qualifications

• Requires 1–2 years in sterilization processing of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation.
• HSPA CSCRT certification strongly preferred.
• Proficient with English grammar and spelling; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect used and contaminated equipment for sorting and decontamination.
• Clean and decontaminate instruments to remove contaminants before sterilization.
• Operate and maintain decontamination equipment and perform sterilization steps.
• Assemble instrument trays and prepare sterilization equipment for clinical procedures.
• Record sterilization loads and document QA checks according to standards.
• Follow infection control, safety standards, and department protocols.
• Handle urgent requests accurately and efficiently.

Job description

Interim Healthcare Staffing has an immediate need for a Sterilization Tech to fill a temporary need!

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm.

Location: Clinical setting in Minneapolis, MN (East Bank)

Pay Rate: Up to 33$/hr depending on experience!

Job Responsibilities:

• Collects used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
• Cleans instruments and supplies, removing contaminants and waste to ensure items are free of foreign matter prior to sterilization.
• Operates and maintains decontamination equipment, and perform decontamination, assembly, packaging, labeling and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Assemble instrument sets and trays accurately, and prepare, pack and deliver sterilization equipment needed for clinical procedures.
• Operate sterilizers safely and document sterilization loads and processes according to established standards.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment and maintain records related to sterilization procedures.
• Follow infection control, safety standards, and department protocols, and respond to urgent requests with accuracy and efficiency.
• Additional tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• At least 1-2 years of recent experience in handling and sterilization processing of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation.
• Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification as a Central Processing Tech (CSCRT) is strongly preferred!
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to function with multiple priorities and interruptions.
• Proficient with computer systems along with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products.
