Sotera Health Company is hiring an Operator at our New York facility to monitor the sterilization system, observe pressure, temperature and humidity, and ensure products move through the line at the correct times.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 pounds, forklift experience, and fluent English. Candidates should be able to work shifts; we offer a comprehensive benefits package and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six months to one year of experience in a sterilization environment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Basic math skills for all units of measure (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• Able to work established shifts.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions.
• Forklift driving experience.
• Computer skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitors system including pressure, temperature and relative humidity.
• Turns valves and adjusts controls to ensure safe operation.
• Observes sterilizers and auxiliary units and assists with repairs as needed.
• Documents and records process readings.
• Reports damaged product to supervision.
• Reports system problems to maintenance staff.
• Performs some daily/weekly equipment preventative maintenance.
• Stores and removes chemicals following procedures and laws.
• Participates on plant safety committees and follows safety rules.
• Assists with other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
• SUPERVISION GIVEN: Oversees the work of Process Assistant Operators.
