Job summary

You will follow AORN and AAMI standards, document sterilization cycles, and participate in ongoing education and competency validation while maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic knowledge of surgical principles.
• Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute instruments.
• Ensure sterilization complies with policies, state and federal regulations.
• Monitor sterilization cycles and document QA activities.
• Maintain knowledge of AORN and AAMI standards.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and proper assembly.
• Restock supplies and maintain inventory for sterile areas.
• Support record keeping and clerical duties in sterile processing.
• Contribute to OR efficiency by ensuring instruments are available.
• Participate as a team member and pursue professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
