Job summary

Orlando Health ORLANDO REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician responsible for cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and equipment in a fast-paced surgical services environment.

Under supervision, you will learn to work independently, apply sterilization standards from decontamination to packaging, and prepare instrument trays for surgical cases in accordance with pick lists and surgeon preferences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of the SPD Readiness Course within 1 year is required.

Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Technician works under the direct supervision of the SPD Operations Specialist or SPD Supervisor.
• Demonstrates professionalism and ethical standards in daily activities.
• Completes tasks using resources available for processing instrumentation and equipment.
• Learns to work independently in a changing technical environment.
• Performs cleaning, decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of instrument trays for surgical case carts.
