UPMC is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, packaging, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instruments. The role focuses on maintaining sterile processing standards and supporting patient safety through proper documentation and workflow improvements.

The position includes training to perform duties and may offer a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 based on experience.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent with no experience.
• Currently enrolled in an Accredited Surgical Technician/Sterile Processing Program Preferred.
• 1 year of experience within UPMC is an option.

Mansioni

• Decontaminates and cleans reusable surgical instruments and equipment.
• Prepares and assembles surgical trays and equipment following established listings for issue or storage.
• Monitors sterilizers and ensures proper function; maintains equipment knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Communicates effectively with team to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
