Job summary

UPMC in the Harrisburg area seeks a detail‑oriented Sterile Processing Technician to oversee decontamination, sterilization and instrument preparation. You will coordinate daily operations, orient new staff, and assume charge in the director's absence.

The role requires two years of central sterile processing experience and a related program; a sign‑on bonus of up to $5,000 is offered based on experience. You will collaborate with OR and hospital teams to ensure safe, efficient instrument

Qualifications

• Two years of central sterile processing experience required.
• Certification in Sterile Processing (preferred) or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Independently run the department on off-shifts and weekends or in the absence of the director.
• Conform to department policies concerning decontamination, sterile processing, infection control and safety.
• Maintain inventory and ensure instrumentation is available and in optimum working condition.
• Communicate effectively with OR and other departments to coordinate sterile services.
