Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you ensure patient safety by cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing surgical instruments. You provide necessary instruments for surgeries and hospital departments, requiring attention to detail and dedication.

• Inspect, assemble, test instrumentation; identify malfunctions; report or replace faulty instruments.
• Operate sterilization equipment; maintain documentation of all procedures and tests.
• Prepare, assemble, and package instruments for surgery and departments.
• Maintain inventories and supplies in storage areas.
• Audit trays and track loaner equipment.
• Keep accurate records for infection control and sterilization.

Qualifications include:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 60 days of employment.
• Preferred: 1+ year in Central Sterile Supply, knowledge of instruments, and medical terminology.
• Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST or CSPDT) within 18 months.
• Availability to work 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm on an as-needed basis.
