Northeast Georgia Health System is hiring a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join the SPD team in Gainesville. The role works under the SPD Manager or Shift Lead, handling decontamination, assembly, autoclaving and dispatch of sterile instruments with precision and professionalism.

The position requires national certification in sterile processing or Surgical Technologist certification, a high school diploma or GED, and about six months of Sterile Processing experience.

Qualifications

• National certification in Sterile Processing required for position.
• Surgical Technologist Certification is required for position.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months experience in Sterile Processing.
• Other Healthcare experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates supplies and equipment following safety guidelines.
• Inspects and cleans instruments and sets for proper assembly.
• Assembles trays and sets accurately for decontamination and sterilization.
• Operates sterilizers (autoclaves) and related equipment according to procedures.
• Places indicator strips and records logs for sterilization cycles.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment in the decontamination area.
