Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA is seeking a dedicated Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgical Services team. Under the SPD Manager or Shift Lead, you will help decontaminate, assemble and dispatch sterile instruments, ensuring quality and patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires knowledge of sterilization processes, attention to detail, and teamwork with the Sterile Processing and Surgical teams.

Qualifications

• National certification in Sterile Processing required or maintained.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in Sterile Processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates supplies and equipment following safety guidelines.
• Inspects and cleans washer drains and follows proper loading techniques.
• Assembles instruments and prepares items for sterilization.
• Operates autoclaves and Sterrad systems as time permits to maintain workflow.
• Documents load sheets, indicators and log entries accurately.
• Ensures correct wrapping, labeling and packaging of instruments.
• Maintains clean, safe sterile processing area and supports patient care.
• Assists with equipment requisitions and inventory control.
• Follows quality control procedures and keeps documentation up to date.
