Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support the Surgical and Sterile Processing Team. You will decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize instruments, ensuring safety and compliance while maintaining efficient workflow.

The role emphasizes precision, standard procedures, and collaboration with the SPD team to support patient care. High school diploma or GED and national certification are required.

Qualifications

• National certification in Sterile Processing required or Surgical Technologist Certification.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in Sterile Processing; other healthcare experience is desired.
• Maintains 12 continuing education points per year for core course status or certification.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates supplies and equipment per safety guidelines.
• Inspects and cleans washer drains and follows proper loading techniques.
• Assembles instruments properly before washer/decontaminator.
• Operates Autoclaves and Sterrad equipment when time allows to keep workflow moving.
• Completes Sterilization Load Sheets and logs accurately.
• Places wrapped items and labels containers and maintains inventory.
