Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network on the Easton Campus (with potential work at the Warren Campus) seeks a Sterile Processing Technician dedicated to patient safety and instrument readiness. You will decontaminate and sterilize instruments, perform quality checks and assemble case carts for the Operating Room.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, SPD certification within 18 months of hire, and on-the-job training with a minimum eight-week orientation. St.

• SPD certification within 18 months of hire.
• On-the-job training with minimum 8 weeks orientation.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves, sorts and decontaminates used materials and instruments per procedures.
• Performs quality checks for cleanliness, sharpness and function.
• Performs high-level disinfection on items not sterilizable.
• Assembles and wraps items for sterilization.
• Sterilizes wrapped items by steam or ETO.
• Prepares case carts for the Operating Room.
