Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of instruments for surgical cases. You will maintain sterile processing workflows, ensure instrument readiness, and uphold infection prevention standards across OR areas.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, with sterile processing knowledge and willingness to obtain relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State licensure or certification as a Sterile Processing Technician if required by state regulations or contractual obligations.
• Preferred: CRCST, CSPDT, or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Prepare instrument trays and specialty sets, wrap and package instruments per standards.
• Restock sterile supplies and maintain inventory; operate instrument tracking system.
• Verify proper function of sterilization and processing equipment; initiate maintenance when needed.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards; keep an organized work environment.
• Communicate effectively with surgical teams; participate in quality improvement and infection prevention initiatives.
