Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Sterilization Technician at Glen Cove Hospital to perform decontamination, packaging, and distribution of sterile instruments. Responsibilities

Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, reassembles and packages sterile supplies per specs and instructions.
Operates washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and EO sterilizers, heat sealers and related equipment.
Follows safety protocols and instrument count sheets; ensures proper handling and transport of trays and sets.
Retrieves used trays/instruments, inspects cleanliness and assembly for functionality.
Identifies malfunctioning items and communicates needs to supervisor or biomedical staff.
Transports sterile supplies to surgical and clinical locations; maintains inventory and records.
