Job summary

Fenway Health in Boston seeks a Sterile Supply Technician to support decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of instruments across clinic sites. You will operate and monitor washers, autoclaves, and related equipment, maintaining logs and ensuring traceability and safety.

The role requires CRCST or CSPDT certification or commitment to obtain within three months, a high school diploma, and flexibility to cover various shifts. Competitive benefits and union participation are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CRCST certification and/or CSPDT certification or ability to become certified within three months of hire date.
• Willingness to work any shift FH is open as needed, including evenings, for coverage purposes.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Able to work autonomously while exercising safe judgment and decision-making.
• Responds in a positive manner to constructive criticism.
• Ability to work as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of daily work to ensure a patient-safe environment.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for patient care with proper labeling.
• Maintains adequate instrument par levels in a cost-effective manner.
• Assembles and packages instruments for sterilization per JC, AORN, AAMI, APIC standards.
• Performs decontamination according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and instrument damage to supervisor.
• Monitors sterilization processes and conducts mechanical, chemical, and biological tests for sterility.
• Operates ultrasonic, washer-disinfector, and steam autoclave and documents checks.
