Job summary

Fenway Health in Boston, MA is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician. You will perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of instruments while maintaining strict safety and documentation standards.

The role requires CRCST/CSPDT certification or the ability to obtain within three months, and flexibility to work various shifts as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, autonomous, and capable of collaborating with medical staff to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CRCST/CSPDT certification, or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• Willingness to work any shift, including evenings, for coverage.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Able to work autonomously while exercising safe judgment and decision-making.
• Effective communication and time/priority management.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution per IFU.
• Operates ultrasonic washer, washer‑disinfector, and steam autoclave; performs checks and maintenance.
• Maintains logs for sterilizers, washers, spore testing, and biological/chemical tests.
• Assembles and packages instruments for sterilization per JC, AAMI, and APIC standards.
• Inspects instruments for function, defects, cleanliness, and overall condition prior to distribution.
• Trains medical assistant staff on proper sterilization procedures and safety practices.
