Job summary

Allina Health in Minnesota is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician in Shakopee to ensure instruments are decontaminated, cleaned, and sterilized for surgeries and procedures. You will prepare instrument sets, label items, and maintain strict infection control standards while supporting Case Carts and the sterile core.

The role requires adherence to safety protocols, accurate documentation, and ability to respond to urgent requests. Certification within 18 months (CBSPD or CRCST) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with education/experience to meet competencies.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
• Certification from CBSPD within 18 months of hire.
• CRCST certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical instruments and assemble instrument sets.
• Perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization and processing per policy.
• Package and label items for correct sterilization method.
• Follow infection control guidelines and use department equipment safely.
• Provide support for Case Carts and Sterile Core; respond to urgent requests.
• Conduct quality checks and report unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment.
