Job summary

MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA is seeking a Central Service Technician to clean, sterilize and package instruments, maintain inventory and transport supplies. This per-diem, part-time role requires cooperation, organization and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include routine duties under supervision, contact with care providers and Materials Management, and potential certification progress within one year.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of Central Service Technician course of study or healthcare organization training program; military training or experience satisfies this requirement for WA state employees, per Title 18 RCW.
• In lieu of formal training, candidates with a nationally recognized certification (e.g., CRCST) and/or a minimum of one (1) year of recent sterile processing experience preferred.
• Central Service Certification or commitment to obtain within one year of hire, as required by location.
• Minimum one (1) year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sterilize, and package instruments.
• Maintain inventory and transport supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with patient care providers and Materials Management staff.
• Service-oriented tasks with organization of time and equipment, independent decision making in daily routine duties.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures.

Education

High School graduate or equivalent preferred

Central Service Technician course of study / healthcare organization training

Nationally recognized certification (e.g., CRCST) and/or 1 year sterile processing experience

Central Service Certification or commitment to obtain within 1 year of hire

Minimum 1 year of related experience
