Responsibilities

• Transports surgical instruments and materials between surgical suites and SPD as required.
• Restocks surgical core areas with sterilized instruments per guidelines.
• Receives, sorts, and decontaminates soiled instruments using logs and cleaning equipment.
• Operates decontamination machinery (washers, cart washers, endoscope reprocessors).
• Inspects, assembles, and sterilizes instrument trays and packets per lists and manufacturer guidelines.
• Operates sterilizers, sets programs, and monitors data during cycles.
• Answers departmental calls, forwards messages, and escalates complex queries when needed.
