Job Summary

Performs reprocessing activities including decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of medical and surgical supplies and equipment used in patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and transport equipment, supplies, and instruments.
• Handle a full range of reusable patient care equipment and supplies, including surgical instruments and small equipment.
• Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment, including ultrasonic washers and rinsers/dryers.
• Prepare supply packages and instrument trays, ensuring proper labeling and sealing.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of sterilizers, washers, and related equipment.
• Conduct quality and performance testing on sterilizers and washers.
• Use tracking software to document sterilization processes and equipment usage.
• Perform leak tests on endoscopes and test powered surgical equipment prior to sterilization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Certification required.
• Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) Certification required.
• Associates Degree in healthcare or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
• Strong communication skills.
