Job summary

Southwest Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a diligent Sterile Technician to assist in decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical equipment.

In this role, you will operate sterilization tools, maintain sterile storage, and adhere to strict infection control protocols. You will scrub, gown, and prepare sterile fields, verify instrumentation, run test loads and logs, and coordinate with surgeons, nurses, and surgical techs to ensure the necessary sterile equipment is ready for each

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Completion or enrollment in a sterile processing program is preferred.
• Previous sterile processing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical equipment.
• Demonstrate ability to assist surgeons in all services and set up sterile fields.
• Scrub, gown, gloves, and ensure sterile technique within required timeframes.
• Run test loads and logging to verify sterilization and cleaning methods.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock sterile instruments as needed.
• Coordinate with nurses, surgeons, and surgical techs to provide necessary equipment.
