Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician. In this full-time role you will clean, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring operating room staff have the tools they need to provide safe patient care.

Training is comprehensive and on-the-job, with no prior healthcare experience required; you will receive mentorship and learn autoclave operation, inventory control, and computer systems for tracking.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and use a full range of body motion throughout the shift.
• Must be able to lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
• Must be able to use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Clean, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Inspect and assemble instruments for procedures.
• Prepare and deliver supplies to operating room staff.
• Maintain inventory and organize storage areas.
• Operate sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and instrument washers (training provided).
• Use computer systems to track instruments and sterilization processes.
