Job summary

The University of Minnesota is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to provide sterile equipment and supplies to Boynton Health departments. The role covers decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and processing in a compliant, safe environment.

You will work independently and with teammates to ensure instrumentation is decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, and distributed to clinical areas in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• HSPA Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST) must be maintained for the duration of employment.
• Clear and effective communication, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organization.
• Proficient with computer systems and office productivity tools (MS Office/Google).
• Schedule flexibility and reliability; up to 40 hours per week.
• Prefer 2 years of experience in handling and sterilization of instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, assemble, package, sterilize, and disinfect instruments and supplies.
• Operate and maintain washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and high-level disinfection systems.
• Prepare instrument sets and trays; wrap and organize equipment for procedures.
• Document sterilization loads and maintain records per policy and safety standards.
• Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies.
