Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain standards for instrument set assembly, sterilization, and storage. You will collaborate with Perioperative Nursing to supply sterile instrument sets and case carts, while ensuring efficient workflow and customer service in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; CST certification is preferred, or three years of Central Sterile experience without CST.

Qualifications

• Education requirements for the role: high school diploma or GED, CST central sterile tech preferred, or three years of central sterile experience in lieu of CST certification.
• Certification preferences include CCST or CST where available.
• Three years of central sterile experience is acceptable if CST certificate is not held.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow, providing superior customer service.

Education

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required

In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required
