Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our team. Responsibilities include assembling, sterilizing, and storing surgical instruments and supplies, while collaborating with Perioperative Nursing staff to ensure timely readiness of instrument sets and case carts.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, CST certificate when available, or 3 years of Central Sterile experience in lieu of CST certification. Preference for CCST/CST certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program required.
• In lieu of CST certificate, 3 years Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts on time and accurately.
• Assists in maintaining consistent workflow and provides superior customer service.

Education

H.S. Diploma or GED

Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech

In lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years Central Sterile experience

CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred

CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
