Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking an Instrument Technician to coordinate decontamination and sterile processing in the operating room setting. You will work with OR staff to ensure timely availability of instruments and maintain instrument care and documentation.

The role emphasizes service, confidentiality, and professional conduct while supporting surgical teams and patients throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST or CBSPD certification preferred or required within 1 year of hire.
• Experience with instrument decontamination, wrapping and sterilization.
• Ability to update OR schedules and coordinate instrument sets.
• Strong attention to record keeping and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Select and assemble instrument sets; decontaminate and sterilize instruments.
• Wrap and wrap/sterilize instrument sets; check OR surgery schedule daily.
• Maintain records of sterilization, Biologicals, DART tests and instrument repair status.
• Communicate with internal and external customers, including vendors and medical staff.
• Perform continual preventive maintenance on instruments and participate in quality improvement.
