Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure sterilization of instruments, prepare supplies for surgical procedures, and support operative suites.

This role requires knowledge of MIFU and various sterilization methods, completion of high school, and certification in CRCST/CSPDT/CFER, with 2 years sterile processing experience preferred.

The job emphasizes accuracy, data entry, good communication, adaptability, and willingness to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required and additional certifications may be considered.
• Certification in sterile processing and related credentials are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general and specialized instrument care duties.
• Provides supplies for surgical procedures.
• Disassembles and cleans critical reusable medical equipment per MIFU.
• Inspects, packages, and reassembles instruments and trays.
• Performs high level disinfection and validated sterilization techniques as per MIFUs.
• Maintains documentation and complies with SOPs and regulations.
• Adapts to patient population and maintains privacy and communication standards.
• Other related duties as required.
