Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Technician responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies across the hospital and outpatient clinics. You will participate in special projects and system-wide performance improvement efforts as requested.

The role requires completion of an accredited Sterile Processing/Surgical Technology program or 18 months of relevant experience, knowledge of infection control practices, and ability to work variable shifts including

Qualifications

• Required: completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months sterile processing experience.
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for the department across the hospital and clinics.
• Participate in special projects and department/center-wide performance improvement initiatives as requested.
