Job summary

University of Southern California's Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles seeks a Sterile Processing Technician II to decontaminate, assemble and sterilize surgical instrumentation. You will operate autoclaves and peroxide sterilizers, inspect items and ensure proper packaging for OR distribution.

Under supervision, you will maintain sterile inventories, document processing in the Censitrac system, train staff as needed, and coordinate with OR and ancillary departments to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing Program or accredited Surgical Technician program.
• If no formal program, at least 3 years of Sterile Processing experience.
• Minimum 1 year in Sterile Processing.
• Basic computer skills (Windows) required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and package instrument sets per protocol.
• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and inspection.
• Operate autoclave and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers.
• Maintain sterile storage and par level inventories.
• Document processing and tracking in Censitrac.
• Train fellow technicians as needed.
