Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Sterile Processing Tech for the Plano facility. The role focuses on instrument tray assembly, decontamination, and accurate counting, with attention to infection control and equipment handling. The position supports fast-paced OR environments and requires careful tracking of tray locations.

Work is full-time, 40 hours weekly, 2:30pm–11:00pm. Candidates should have a HS diploma and related processing experience; certifications within 2 years are required or

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred.
• Within 2 years, CSPDT, CBSPD or CRCST certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble instrument trays with proper technique and create count sheets/labels.
• Track tray locations using the Cenistrac system and perform decontamination per policy.
• Operate washers and verify proper function through routine tests.
• Load sterilization equipment correctly and follow infection-control practices.
• Manage distribution of medical carts and monitor supplies.

Work hours: Full-Time (40 hours/week) – 2:30pm-11:00pm

Here's What You Need

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred
• CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician within 2 Years Required Or
• CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution withing 2 Years Required Or
• CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician within 2 Years Required

What You Will Do

• Performs scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label. Demonstrates proper assembly technique for instrument trays. Demonstrates wrapping/containing of instruments/tray.
• Performs scanning of instrument trays to track location using the Cenistrac system. Demonstrates decontamination process according to policy and procedure. Cleaning of instruments manually and using automated cleaners.
• Performs tests and documents as directed to ensure proper operation of washers.
• Demonstrates the proper loading technique for sterilization method. Effectively utilizes infection control concepts. Effectively handles all chemical and cleaning agents used for cleaning, decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Demonstrates processing and distribution of special medical emergency carts, and Urology carts. Monitors supplies as necessary.
