Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech for the Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery in Plano, TX. This role supports endoscopy and lithotripsy procedures and maintains sterile instrument trays in a fast-paced surgical setting.

The position requires a high school diploma and certification within 2 years (CSPDT/CBSPD/CRCST), with 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred. Work hours are 2:30pm-11:00pm, full-time on-site at the Plano facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred.
• CSPDT/CBSPD/CRCST certifications within 2 years required.

Responsibilities

• Performs scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label.
• Demonstrates proper assembly technique for instrument trays and wrapping/containing instruments.
• Performs scanning using Cenistrac system and conducts decontamination per policy.
• Loads and operates washers; monitors proper operation of equipment.
• Handles chemical and cleaning agents used for cleaning, decontamination and sterilization, and distribution of carts.

Work location: Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery, 6020 W Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093

Work hours: Full-Time (40 hours/week) - 2:30pm-11:00pm

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred
• CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician within 2 Years Required Or
• CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution withing 2 Years Required Or
• CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician within 2 Years Required

What You Will Do

• Performs scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label. Demonstrates proper assembly technique for instrument trays. Demonstrates wrapping/containing of instruments/tray.
• Performs scanning of instrument trays to track location using the Cenistrac system. Demonstrates decontamination process according to policy and procedure. Cleaning of instruments manually and using automated cleaners.
• Performs tests and documents as directed to ensure proper operation of washers.
• Demonstrates the proper loading technique for sterilization method. Effectively utilizes infection control concepts. Effectively handles all chemical and cleaning agents used for cleaning, decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Demonstrates processing and distribution of special medical emergency carts, and Urology carts. Monitors supplies as necessary.
