Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Central Service Technician for evenings, full-time. You will decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, stock crash carts, and ensure compliance with infection control policies across the Sterile Processing Department.

Responsibilities include high-level disinfection of scopes and devices, maintaining equipment inventories, and documenting processes in the department system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification in Sterile Processing (CBSPD/CRCST/HSPA) required; provisional acceptable.
• Minimum 400 hours hands-on training completed before provisional certification expires.
• Experience with sterile processing workflows and infection control practices.
• Proficiency with inventory systems and department software.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain crash carts, stock supplies, and ensure accurate inventory.
• Perform high-level disinfection of scopes and medical devices.
• Package, label, and document sterilization loads and parameters.
• Adhere to infection control policies and aseptic procedures.
