Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Central Service Technician - Ambulatory Surgery to perform decontamination, assembly, high-level disinfection and sterilization of surgical instruments in the ASC Suffolk area. The role includes stocking, delivering instruments, maintaining par levels and supporting infection control guidelines.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and CBSPD or CRCST certification (provisional acceptable).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CBSPD Certification or CRCST Certification required.
• Provisional certification is acceptable.
• 400 hours of hands-on training to be completed before provisional certification expiration.

Responsibilities

• Surgical instrument management and logistics.
• Decontamination of medical devices and instruments.
• High-level disinfection of instruments and devices.
• Crash cart stocking, logistics and disinfection.
• Sterilization of instruments using steam and low-temperature methods.
• Quality assurance and documentation of sterilization/processing parameters.
