Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Instrument Processing Technician for the Leominster, MA area. The role focuses on assembling, sterilizing, cleaning, maintaining and distributing routine surgical instruments and supplies in a fast-paced Central Sterile department.

The position requires basic knowledge of sterilization standards, the ability to learn the department's computerized system, and a High School diploma. Valid MA driver’s license is preferred, hospital experience a bonus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license preferred.
• Basic knowledge of sterilization standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates autoclave units and inspects function daily.
• Prepares, assembles and packages items for sterilization.
• Maintains aseptic technique in daily work assignments.
• Performs general cleaning and restocking of supplies.
• Documents biological/chemical tests and maintains logs.
