Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Stererilization Technician to support the Central Sterile Supplies department. The role requires handling autoclaves, performing daily tests, and ensuring accurate packaging according to guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and CRCST certification is preferred, with knowledge of sterilization standards and related medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: CRCST certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper operation of autoclave units on a daily basis.
• Inspects autoclaves and reports malfunctions to Manager.
• Performs sterilization according to AMMI/Central Sterile guidelines.
• Shoots and counts instrument sets and communicates needs to the department.
• Applies aseptic techniques and assists with clerical tasks as needed.
