Job summary

Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the department. The role requires handling decontamination, instrument inspection, and proper packaging to support the OR.

You will participate in weekday surge plans and weekend call while ensuring safety and documentation compliance. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and preferably sterile processing experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; sterile processing experience preferred.
• Ability to operate department machinery and report issues promptly.
• Proficient communication skills and knowledge of tracking instruments.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual and automated decontamination of instruments.
• Inspects instruments for cleanliness and proper functionality.
• Assembles instruments into containers per count sheets and packages per instructions.
• Performs sterilization and verifies the process adequacy.
• Maintains documentation of sterilization and stores containers appropriately.
• Assembles case carts and delivers to the OR, participates in surge plans.
