Job summary

Hugh Chatham Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure the safe decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments, and to assemble case carts for the OR. You will operate steam and low temp sterilizers, document procedures, and maintain instrument tracking records.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with sterile processing experience preferred; strong attention to detail and good communication are essential for daily teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Sterile Processing experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and instrument tracking software.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate department machinery and report issues to supervisor.
• Decontaminate instruments manually and automatically.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality.
• Assemble instruments into containers per count sheets.
• Package instruments per manufacturer instructions and sterilize.
• Maintain sterilization documentation and store containers.
• Assemble case carts and deliver to the OR; participate in surge plans.
